2 KU engineering students receive job offers from Ashok Leyland

Two electrical engineering students from the Zakura Institute of Technology campus of the University of Kashmir have received job offers from Ashok Leyland, one of the country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.

Filza Shah and Zarar Amin Lala were selected as graduate engineering interns after going through a rigorous placement campaign and five-tier recruitment process.

The assessment round was held on July 20 and 21 this year, followed by the gamification round on August 5 and three more rounds, including a panel discussion on September 7 and an AI-based interview on September 8.

The technical interview took place on September 9, after which offer letters were sent to Filza and Zarar on September 13.

“Engineering graduate trainees will receive one-year training at Hosur and then be assigned to different locations,” IOT officials said.

Professor Gowhar Bashir Vakil, Director of IOT Zakura Campus, congratulated the two students for accepting the offers.

“At IOT Zakura, we aim to facilitate the placement of our students who we always advise to work with dedication and commitment wherever they have the opportunity to work,” he said.

He said that more placement campaigns will take place in the future at IOT Zakura.

Obaid Qureshi, IOT Zakura Placement Manager facilitated the placement process.
